Explain the basis for the division of the layers of the atmosphere

The basis for the division of the layers of the atmosphere is the temperature profiles of each layers.

The atmosphere is divided into 5 layers such as troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere.

Troposphere - temperature profile decreases as altitude increases.

Stratosphere - temperature profile increases as altitude increases.

Mesosphere - temperature profile decreases as altitude increases.

Thermosphere - temperature profile increases as altitude increases.

Exosphere - temperature profile increases as altitude increases.
